When it comes to poker, India’s been a safe-playing market in more ways than one. As the largest online poker platform in the country, Pokerbaazi wanted to ensure that their favourite game was seen as fair, fun, and accessible.
I developed the brand platform of ‘You Hold The Cards’ and the resulting launch campaign.
The brand platform of “You Hold The Cards” borrowed from poker lingo to establish the game as one won by skill and not defined by luck.
The open-ended nature of the articulation allows the brand to have an opinion on the myriad manifestations of bad luck that the average Indian deals with on a daily basis—and not just at a financial level, either. When it’s about fortune, everything from cryptocurrency to the stock market to the annual review cycle is a rich source of insights.

The use of the forbidden word allowed us to deliver a risque but real message at opportune places, such as this billboard right outside the Dabolim Airport in Goa. As India’s ‘party city’, Goa is home to the most famous of the country’s few legal casinos.
