To unbox OPPO’s 2021 flagship, the Reno6, we broke a few traditions of celebrity endorsements in the Indian market. For a phone so advanced, it didn’t quite make sense to depict the famously tech-shy Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor as a smartphone expert. He is, after all, known for not even having an Instagram account, a relative rarity in 2021.
And so, to showcase in buzzword-free ways what the Reno6 can do, Ranbir instead hands it over to the photography/styling/editing experts on the set around him.
For a final twist, we got an up-and-coming indie band to play out an unreleased track in full to spice up the charging sequence, and as a nifty way to contextualise the sheer speed of the phone’s fast-charging feature.
